e2v technologies will be launching its latest high powered, robust satellite communications amplifiers to the market at IBC 2005, increasing the StellarCool™ range to bring even greater power and a wider choice of solutions to its customers.

The extended StellarCool™ satellite communication amplifier range now includes; 400W Ku, X & C-band, 450W Tri-band, 500W DBS and 750W Ku, X & C-band amplifiers.

The family of StellarCool™ amplifiers thrive in extreme conditions due to the high technical specification, extensive use of the latest thermal, mechanical and circuit simulation tools and rigorous verification testing applied during development. The units are compact and lightweight for portability, but extremely rugged in design to allow for use in tough conditions. Advanced packaging and cooling solutions enable the units to operate in extreme environmental conditions from direct rain to direct sunlight, with proven reliability in temperatures ranging from –40 to +55* degrees Celsius.

Andre Goodson, Business Manager commented ‘The increased range of StellarCool™ satellite amplifiers means our customers can choose solutions that offer greater power than ever before and still be reassured that e2v satellite amplifiers are of the highest quality and I believe, the most robust on the market by far.’

All StellarCool™ HPAs incorporate high efficiency dual collector Travelling Wave Tubes (TWTs). With over 30 years experience in the design and manufacture of Travelling Wave Tube Amplifiers, together with over 50 years specialist experience in the design and manufacture of Travelling Wave Tubes, e2v boasts a level of product quality that can’t be surpassed and has earned a reputation for producing robust, reliable HPAs based on a foundation of high quality engineering.
