    Video Communications, Inc. supplier of integrated media solutions to the broadcast and cable industry, announced new features and improved workflows as part of the integration of VCI’s STARS II+ sales, traffic and accounting system with OneDomain’s ClearView product line, the television industry’s premiere broadcast sales proposal system.

    The features, made available today, represent the next evolution in the OneDomain and VCI strategic alliance, giving broadcasters an even greater ability to make better informed decisions regarding advertising schedules and improved customer service.

    The new features include:

    Future Posting: OneDomain’s enhanced ClearView posting module now provides live access to an advertising contract as scheduled through VCI’s STARS II+. This enables sales staff to assess how an order is performing mid-flight and into the future, as well as determining what has not placed, and why;

    Order Electronic Contracting: Completed proposals from ClearView can now be scheduled automatically into STARS II+ SalesDesk with all appropriate fields for logging spots such as revenue type, brand, and more. As a result, traffic managers gain control over inventory, while sales staff get greater insight to better serve customers and drive advertising buys.

    The combination of ClearView with STARS II+ provides the broadcast industry with the highest integration between traffic and sales proposal solutions. Through the integration of the STARS II+ database and ClearView, broadcasters have complete control over sales and traffic. The integration allows users to generate in-depth proposals on the fly that can be distributed to numerous locations at once, analyze and interpret ratings data, and gain a complete view of sales, traffic and accounting through a single system. Since the announcement of the OneDomain and VCI integration more than two years ago, there have been a number of product upgrades and the strategic alliance continues to be one of the most successful in the broadcast industry, with a number of joint customers across North America.

    “By developing the best traffic product on the market around an open architecture, VCI can work with similarly-minded vendors to bring the broadcast and cable industry state-of-the-art tools. This approach and commitment ensures customers never feel buyer’s remorse or invest in sub par tools simply because their traffic vendor did not have the engineering resources or forethought to design an open system,” said Lowell Putnam, CEO of VCI.
