CISN Country 103.9 (CISN-FM), 92.5 FRESH Radio (CKNG-FM) and Edmonton’s Food Bank are teaming up for the #FeedTheFort campaign to collect non-perishable food items, in support of victims of the devastating fire in Fort McMurray, AB.
Non-perishable food donations will be collected in the rear parking lot of Corus Radio Edmonton at 5205-84st NW, as a part of the #FeedTheFort campaign on the following dates and times:
“Edmonton has proven time and time again, when help is needed, our city insists on helping,” said Chris Scheetz, On-Air Host, CISN Country 103.9 FM. “Corus Radio Edmonton is behind every effort to help our friends in Fort McMurray.”
“In addition to providing food support in our communities, food banks are a network that can jump into action during natural disasters and displacement of people,” said Tamisan Bencz-Knight, Manager of Strategic Relationships & Partnerships, Edmonton’s Food Bank. “Edmonton’s Food Bank is working with Alberta Food Banks & other community Food Banks throughout the province to ensure food resources are stocked at this time to help residents and evacuees. Donations to Edmonton’s Food Bank will be used locally and shared outside of Edmonton to anyone in need.”
Corus Radio Edmonton also encourages monetary donations to be made to the Alberta Fires Appeal through the Canadian Red Cross at www.redcross.ca.
