OTTAWA - Industry Canada is inviting all Canadians to submit whatever comments they may have on antenna towers in Canada to the National Antenna Tower Policy Review being conducted by David A. Townsend, Professor of Law.
Professor Townsend and his team at the University of New Brunswick, with support from the National Antenna Tower Advisory Committee from Industry Canada, will consult with the public on improvements to the existing policy and siting procedures for antenna tower placement.
The review will look at the current policy and suggest changes which will affect any industry, such as broadcasting or mobile phones, which rely on such towers. "This Tower Policy Review's objective is to lead the development of new, modern procedures for placing antenna towers, which embrace community involvement and expand the economic and social benefits of wireless, broadcast and wireless broadband technologies across Canada," says a committee press release.
The public has until October 17th to submit their comments.
