TORONTO - Radio station Z 103.5 was presented with the Toronto Crime Stoppers President's Award at the annual Crime Stoppers fundraising dinner held last Wednesday Night at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto.
Z 103.5, owned by the Evanov Radio Group, is the media sponsor for the School Crime Stoppers Program and received the prestigious award for the huge commitment it provides the program in donating 30-second PSA spots, interviews on the morning show, and the donation of a Crime Stoppers vehicle.
"We call it going beyond the call of duty" says Lorne Simon, chair of Toronto Crime Stoppers. The award was accepted by Paul Evanov, vice-president of programming for "the HIT music channel". Evanov was also a head table guest along with Police Chief Julian Fantino, Monte Kwinter, Minister of Community safety and Correctional services and other dignitaries.
