SARS scare hits WTSN schedule
4/3/2003

Toronto - The world-wide outbreak of severe acute respiratory syndrome caused WTSN to change its schedule.

The world's best women hockey players were to skate in China this year in the Women's World Hockey Championship, but with SARS having taken a heavy toll on people in Asia - and to a lesser extent here in North America - the tournament was cancelled.

WTSN was to provide extensive coverage of the event but instead will show the 2001 World Championships, where Canada took gold, beginning April 8.
