HALIFAX - Hurricane Juan, which barrelled through Halifax last week, caused millions of dollars of damage and also laid waste to many of the lovely public gardens in the Nova Scotia capital.
Maritime Broadcasting Ltd., which owns over two dozen radio stations in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island, recently launched a campaign to raise funds to help restore those public gardens.
The company, which operates Country 101 (CHFX-FM) and CHNS Oldies 96 in Halifax began the campaign with a $100,000 donation of its own and held an on-air fundraising drive this past weekend.
The fundraising broadcast was aired chain-wide.
