TORONTO - CHUM Ltd.'s Denise Cooper has been promoted to the position of vice-president, business and legal affairs and appointed as general counsel to the company.
Her responsibilities include all business and legal affairs for CHUM's radio and television divisions, in addition to non-broadcast units CHUM Radio Sales, CHUM Satellite Services, CHUM Interactive and CHUM Television International. She is also responsible for overall corporate affairs for CHUM Limited.
"Denise has long played a leading role in the business and legal affairs of CHUM Television, both domestically and internationally. With this promotion, our radio division will also be able to benefit from her extensive broadcast experience and legal expertise. The additional appointment to general counsel for CHUM Limited is a reflection of her important contribution to the affairs of the entire company," said Jay Switzer, president and CEO, CHUM Limited.
Cooper joined CHUM Television in 1993, and most recently was vice-president, business and legal affairs, CHUM Television, She has overseen all legal and business matters related to the division's program distribution, licensing, channel formats and joint venture activities in the television and broadband world, both domestically and internationally.
