HAMILTON - Starting at 6 a.m. on January 30th, and continuing through the 31st, Standard Broadcasting's three radio stations in Hamilton, 102.9 K-Lite FM, Oldies 1150 CKOC and 820 CHAM, will hold the first annual McMaster Children's Hospital Radiothon on-air at Limeridge Mall in the Steel City.

During the Radiothon listeners will hear stories and interviews from nurses, doctors, patients and families all touched by McMaster Children's Hospital. "Emotions will run high, awareness will be large and a difference will be made," says the company's press release today.

"Our Hamilton Standard Radio staff are working diligently behind-the-scenes in advance with our first ever Radiothon in support of the McMaster Children's Hospital. This event will be the first of its kind within the Greater Hamilton-Wentworth Region; an event that ultimately will provide additional funds to support the Hospital and its mandate to grow within our community and importantly, maintain its position as one of the finest Children's Health Care facilities anywhere," said vice-president and general manager Tom Cooke. "We anxiously await its launch and anticipate tremendous support from the many listeners we serve across the region."

McMaster Children's Hospital is one of the largest pediatric healthcare facilities in Canada and the second busiest children's hospital in Ontario. It is recognized internationally for research leadership and innovative programs.
