4/29/2002

Montreal, - Astral Media says it made $9.8 million in the second quarter ending February 28th.

But that was down from the $10.6 million it earned in the same period a year before. Revenue rose to $93.2 million from 79.5 million.

Astral owns and operates specialty, pay and pay-per-view television, radio and outdoor advertising, and also has Internet
operations.

Its proposed acquisition of 19 Telemedia radio stations still needs full regulatory approval.

This year's earnings include a gain of $13 million on the sale of The Comedy Network to Corus Entertainment. Corus then sold the holding to CTV.
