Vancouver,- A Vancouver radio station has bowed out of the all-news war in B.C.'s Lower Mainland.
Corus Radio discontinued its all-news format on NW-2 (CJNW) early today, replacing it with a music loop until a new format is
announced in a month or so.
The station, formerly the longtime Top-40 rock station CKLG, began a 24-hour news clock a little over a year ago, taking on rival
Lou Del Gobbo, general manager of Corus Vancouver, says the company believed it was the right strategy but NW-2's performance
has not met projections.
He says about nine full-time and 15 part-time employees will lose their jobs.
