  • Entertainment Tonight Canada’s Rick Campanelli joins 102.1 the Edge (CFNY-FM, Toronto), beginning June 27. The seasoned media personality will co-host the Edge morning show alongside Fred Kennedy and Mel Mariani, weekdays from 5:30 to 9 a.m.

“Rick has his finger on the pulse of music and pop culture, making him a perfect fit for our station,” said Ross MacLeod, Program Director, 102.1 the Edge. “This dynamic group of personalities will have listeners looking forward to weekday mornings.”

Rick first came onto the Canadian media scene in 1994 as a MuchMusic VJ. At MuchMusic, he did everything from interview big name artists such as Red Hot Chili Peppers and Pearl Jam to sky dive live on-air with the Foo Fighters. In 2024, Rick left MuchMusic to co-host ET Canada on Global, where he will continue when he joins the Edge. When Rick isn’t on-air, you’ll find him adventure-seeking or doing charity work in remote locations.

“I’ve been a huge fan of the Edge my whole life,” said Rick Campanelli. “This is definitely a dream come true – even if I have to sit beside Fred every morning. It’s a good thing Mel is in the room too!”

Fred and Mel in the mornings is a unique combination of smart, nerdy, funny and connected. Fred is addicted to watching TV with his two sons. Mel, on the other hand, is out and about enjoying all Toronto has to offer.
