ACCT Unveils New Sponsor for Academy Breakfast Club

The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television is pleased to announce that the Copyright Collective of Canada is the new sponsor of the Academy Breakfast Club, with the participation of Pinewood Toronto Studios, part of the Pinewood Studios Group.

“Delivering productive industry workshops through the newly rebranded Academy Breakfast Club is precisely the kind of informative activity and networking opportunity the Academy will be producing and promoting in 2013,” says Academy CEO Helga Stephenson.

The first rebranded Academy Breakfast Club session will be held on Wednesday, January 23 at Pinewood Studios Toronto, featuring Executive Producer James Milward (founder, Secret Location) on how to best process and leverage the ecosystem around traditional TV content. This session will review a variety of digital extension opportunities to supplement and extend conventional television programming through broadcaster integration on their sites, micro sites, social media, mobile apps, and connected TV.

The Academy Breakfast Club will be webcast on the Academy YouTube Channel to ensure all Academy Members have access nationwide.

“The Copyright Collective of Canada is pleased to support the Academy Breakfast Club series, which will provide an excellent forum for the promotion, understanding and appreciation of intellectual property and help increase awareness of the cultural, creative value and economic contributions of the film and television industry in Canada,” says CCC Executive Director Lucy Medeiros.

“Pinewood Toronto Studios is very proud to support the Academy in providing a venue for the Breakfast Club,” says Blake Steels, President, Pinewood Toronto Studios. “Pinewood Toronto Studios services many Canadian producers and Academy members at the Studios throughout the year and this will be an excellent opportunity for Academy members who are not already familiar with Pinewood, to learn about the benefits of our purpose built production facility.
