Bell Media’s Harold Greenberg Fund announced today its support for 30 new Canadian film projects in all stages of development from story optioning and polish and packaging, to first and second drafts. Among the supported projects are: Don McKellar’s The Last Letter From Your Lover; What Waits For Them in the Darkness from Stephen Dunn, director of Closet Monster, winner of Best Canadian Feature Film at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival; Three Day Road and Through Black Spruce, based on the award-winning novels by acclaimed Canadian author Joseph Boyden; Adriana Maggs’ Goalie, about NHL Hall of Famer Terry Sawchuk; and Canada, based on the novel by Pulitzer Prize-winner Richard Ford.
“Some of the brightest and best filmmakers continue to come out of Canada, and we’re proud to play a role in bringing their vision to life,” said John Galway, President, English-Language Program, The Harold Greenberg Fund. “With names like Don McKellar, Stephen Dunn, Léa Pool, and Mina Shum attached, this latest round of projects is sure to leave its mark.”
