Citytv’s Breakfast Television To Begin Christmas Features and Events

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and Toronto’s  Breakfast Television is getting into the holiday spirit early with two months of festive fun. Beginning Monday, Nov. 12, viewers can tune in to Breakfast Television Toronto each weekday  on Citytv and CityNews Channel to find out the hottest trends in holiday décor, fashion, entertaining, and gift-giving, and exciting contests and must-see events around the city. From fresh evergreen trees to the best music of the season, big-ticket giveaways and an opportunity to help those in need, kick start the holidays this year with Toronto’s favourite morning team.

‘Tis the season for giving as Breakfast Television kicks off its holiday festivities with the largest cash giveaway in the show’s history as part of its new contest, Wake-up, Watch & Win with Breakfast Television launching Monday, Nov. 12. Each Tuesday and Thursday, a scrambled word phrase will be featured on the show, and viewers will have a chance to unscramble the words for a chance to enter to win $10,000 cash. Each Monday, one lucky winner will be called by Breakfast Television hosts live during the broadcast. The contest runs for four weeks, with a $10,000 cash prize given out each week.

Share in the true spirit of the holidays with Breakfast Television’s annual special live broadcasts in support of the Daily Bread Food Bank, returning this December with the BT/Home Depot Tree Sale and Spirit of the Season. Viewers are invited to come and celebrate the merriment of the season alongside their favourite Breakfast Television hosts Kevin Frankish, Dina Pugliese, Jennifer Valentyne, and Frank Ferragine, while helping those in need in the community.

On Friday, Dec.14, a sea of evergreen takes over the heart of downtown Toronto at Yonge-Dundas Square for the seventh annual BT/Home Depot Tree Sale. Viewers are invited to browse through hundreds of trees donated by Home Depot Canada, and take home the perfect tree for the holidays with a minimum donation of $10.00. Proceeds will go towards the Daily Bread Food Bank, Canada’s largest food bank.

Celebrations continue with joyful music and the scent of hot cocoa as Citytv shares the Spirit of the Season on Friday, Dec. 21 from the Sheraton Centre Toronto. The day-long yuletide extravaganza begins at 5:30 a.m. with a live broadcast on Breakfast Television, with coverage continuing throughout the day on CityNews Channel, CityNews at Five, and CityNews at Six. Viewers are invited to drop by with a nutritious non-perishable food item or monetary donation for the Daily Bread Food Bank, while enjoying musical performances, prizes, and meet n’ greets with favourite BT and CityNews on-air personalities.
