  • CP24 BREAKFAST is celebrating its one-year anniversary.

Lead anchor Ann Rohmer, along with CP24 BREAKFAST hosts Melissa Grelo, Steve Anthony, Matte Babel, hosted a special birthday show to commemorate the landmark.

After only one year, CP24 BREAKFAST has become a popular morning appointment for viewers in the GTA, reaching an impressive 1.4 million viewers weekly and 683,000 viewers in the A25-54 demo. Airing live every weekday morning at 5:30 a.m. – before any other local newscast in the city – CP24 BREAKFAST delivers breaking news, weather and traffic information, while keeping the channel’s popular enhanced screen intact.

The last year has been an exciting one for CP24 BREAKFAST. From top tier musical guests including the Canadian Tenors, Daughtry, and Nikki Yanofsky; to interviews with legendary sports stars including Paul Tracy, Mark Messier, Wendel Clark, and a visit from the Stanley Cup, the 3.5 hour program delivers all the news and information – including weather and traffic updates every 10 minutes – Torontonians need to kick-start their day. The show also has featured community activists Marc and Craig Kielburger, spent time raising money for earthquake victims in Haiti and helped Princess Margaret Hospital sell out tickets for the home lottery in a one-day blitz. Working hard to provide support to a myriad of community events, CP24 BREAKFAST has actively supported a number of initiatives including Sunnybrook Night of Stars, Pride Toronto, Scotiabank Caribana, North York General’s Underwear Affair, The Weekend to End Women’s Cancers, Gilda’s Club “It’s Always Something” Show, CANFAR’s Bloor Street Entertains and others. CP24 Breakfast is also the new home of the Princess Margaret Lotteries.

“We’re striving to provide a real alternative for the people of Toronto and the reaction is phenomenal,” said Bob McLaughlin, Vice-President and General Manager, CP24. “And it’s working. I’m very proud of what our team has accomplished in such a short period of time.”

CP24 BREAKFAST features the most comprehensive traffic and weather in Toronto: Nalini Sharma, who keeps viewers informed with weather updates; traffic and safety specialist Cam Wooley, who reports from the road and various events across the GTA; and transit specialist Mika Midolo, who delivers breaking news from the TTC and GO Transit.

Viewers can watch CP24 on television, listen on the radio, and follow along online at CP24.com. The station is owned by CTV Inc, a division of CTVglobemedia.
