Food Networks Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives Comes to Toronto

Food Network Canada’s ultimate food-lover’s road trip rolls into Toronto this March, stopping at some of the city’s most delicious eateries. Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives is a Food Network fan favourite series and in the new season, host Guy Fieri steps into some of Toronto’s most popular foodie destinations where he samples some of the city’s tastiest, most mouthwatering meals. Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives airs Fridays  on Food Network Canada with the first of the Toronto episodes premiering on March 15th.

In each half-hour, Toronto-based episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, Guy Fieri rolls up his sleeves and lends a hand in the cooking process, getting a glimpse at some of the city’s highly-coveted, mouthwatering comfort food recipes. Whether devouring a mac and cheese burger or gulping down an apple pie milkshake, Guy meets some of Toronto’s most colourful characters along the way. Last season, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives made its first Canadian stop in Vancouver, BC.

Friday, March 15th at 10pm ET/PT

Guy feasts on the many tastes of Europe during this trip. In Tacoma, Washington, an Eastern European joint heats up a hearty hangover soup and along with a meat dish. Then in Toronto, Guy visits Little Italy’s Hey Meatball, a meatball-only spot that serves up their unique versions of spaghetti and meatballs. At the final stop in Syracuse, New York, a Polish family restaurant piles their potato pancakes high with a savoury stew.

Guy checks out some unique combinations in this trip. In Los Angeles’s Korea Town, a craft beer joint puts duck in both their fries and French dip. Then in Toronto, The Lakeview Restaurant serves up stuffed French toast, a cornflake chicken club and an apple pie milkshake.

Friday, March 29th at 10pm ET/PT

In this trip, Guy visits longtime carvinore-friendly haunts. In Toronto, The Ace in Roncesvalles Village cooks up a mac and cheese burger and a Christmas burger with a side of pork belly. In Burbank, California, a long time chili parlour serves up a decades-old recipe. Then in Nags Head, North Carolina, Guy finds a surfer spot for Jamaican jerk chicken and Caribbean pork chops.

Friday, April 5th at 10pm ET/PT

On this trip, Guy digs into dishes with a personal connection. At Caplansky’s Deli, a landmark Jewish deli in Toronto, serves up smoked meats and knishes the old school way. Then in Los Angeles, a funky food truck infuses Singaporean flavours into their chili crab cake and lamb burger.
