  • Next week, Global News will debut Canada’s most

comprehensive national/local news package, featuring new timeslots, a refreshed look, and an enhanced commitment to building the nation’s fastest-
growing news audiences coast-to-coast. On Monday, February 6th, at the forefront of the overall rebranding of the Global Television network, Global
News will herald the changes with the move of Global National with Kevin Newman to a consistent national 5:30 p.m. slot (6:30 p.m. in the Maritimes),
partnered with rebranded Early News, News Hour and News Final local coverage in all markets.

With an approach to news and information programming that combines a unique, award-winning blend of context, immediacy and relevance, the Global
News national and local news teams are focused on maintaining and building audience loyalty. Notably, both Global National with Kevin Newman and News
Hour with Leslie Roberts represent the country’s fastest-growing, second-most-watched newscasts in the national and key Ontario markets respectively, while in BC, News Hour with Tony Parsons ranks as the No. 1 newscast in the province.

“Our aim at Global News is to grow with audiences long term – building a destination for our viewers where news is understood like nowhere else,” said
Steve Wyatt, senior vice president of news and information for Global Television. “Our ability to offer Canadians this level of back-to-back
national and local news programming is a combination that will be difficult to beat.”

The high-profile Global News initiative is part of a Global brand strategy that will situate the network as the premiere Canadian source for news and entertainment programming. The new brand positioning will include a reimagined visual identity, logo, advertising and on-air presentation. The
network’s new attitude and promise to viewers will be unveiled on February 5th, 2024 – Super Bowl Sunday – beginning with sign on at 6 a.m. ET.
