K-Rock 105.7, Kingston, Launches new Morning Show

Rogers Radio station K-Rock 105.7, today announced the return of Kris Bawden aka “Big Kris” and Wendy Bouwma aka “Boomer” to the station as hosts of The Big Kris and Boomer Show. Revving up Kingston’s morning airwaves, the new show makes its debut on Monday, Jan. 28, exclusively on K-Rock 105.7.

“Kris’s crazy stunts and Wendy’s irreverent sense of humour make for a continually spontaneous, lively and fun show,” said Darryl Spring, Program Director and Music Director, K-Rock 105.7. “Both have a great history with K-Rock and a strong connection to the Kingston community, so it was a natural decision to bring the two together for this exciting new show.”

An Ottawa native, Big Kris considers Kingston his second home. With a decade of experience in the radio industry, his roles have ranged from music director to on-air radio host. Big Kris is known by Kingstonians for leading the city’s most infamous radio stunts including, The Turd King, The Human Toboggan, and the Turkey Hunter.

No stranger to the Kingston radio scene, Boomer has a long history with K-Rock, spanning nearly a decade. Throughout her career at the station she worked in a number of roles from promotions to stunt-woman extraordinaire, to DJ, and music director. Boomer is recognized as a two-time demolition derby queen, the reigning tortilla toss champion, and a Polar Bear Plunge survivor.
