MAJIC 100.3 and CTV Ottawa Launch Toy Mountain Campaign

MAJIC 100 and CTV Ottawa are piling up the fun by building a mountain of toys again this holiday season. Today marks the launch of the annual Toy Mojuntaincampaign, dedicated to raising a mountain of toys and celebrating Ottawa’s spirit of giving. This yearly tradition from CTV Ottawa and MAJIC 100 will spread Christmas cheer once again for The Salvation Army, with hopes that the mountain of toys grows to new heights thanks to generous toy and cash donations.

“Every gift donated to the MAJIC 100 and CTV Toy Mountain Campaign helps The Salvation Army meet the needs of families in our community,” said Richard Gray, Regional Vice-President, Radio & TV Operations Eastern Canada. “The overwhelming generosity of our viewers and listeners helps support those less fortunate during the holiday season, and spread Christmas cheer across the city with all the new locations this year.”

As the mountain of toys reaches higher altitudes, MAJIC 100 and CTV Ottawa personalities will broadcast from various mobile donation drop-off locations on Saturday, Dec. 1; Saturday, Dec. 8; and Saturday, Dec. 15, including several Toys ‘R Us and Wal-Mart locations throughout the city. Festive AMJ trucks and Salvation Army volunteers will be at each location to help collect donations. Even Santa will take a break from his holiday preparations to make his rounds to each location during the Saturday events.

This year, donations can also be dropped-off during banking hours at all TD Canada Trust locations or at a customer service kiosk during regular mall hours.  And of course, toys can also be dropped off at Bell Media Ottawa,  during regular business hours, turning an entire studio into one giant toy mountain.

A complete list of drop-off locations can be found at and

Finally, businesses are encouraged to get involved via the At Work Santa program, where people can sign up to collect donations on behalf of colleagues and arrange for pick-up through the Salvation Army.

Toy Mountain would like to thank sponsors and community partners for their generosity and support: The Salvation Army; TD Canada Trust; Dare HR; AMJ Campbell, Carlingwood Shopping Centre; Speedy Messenger; and St-Laurent Shopping Centre.
