OAB Unveils Annual Career Development Day

The Ontario Association of Broadcasters is proud to present the 8th Annual Career Development Day. Thank you to Rogers Broadcasting as they have graciously agreed to host our dynamic event – Monday, March 18th at 1:00 p.m. at Rogers Media, 333 Bloor Street East in Toronto.

Career Day 2013 will include a Panel discussion entitled, “Carving your Path in Broadcasting”. This discussion, moderated by Jim Carr, Director, OAB and Professor, Seneca College, will highlight success stories, what skills will secure your future job and how to get started in broadcasting.

The highlight and main feature of our day, roundtable discussions will include broadcasters from all areas of radio and television. This is a one of a kind opportunity for soon to be graduating students to speak candidly with experienced broadcasters in all areas of the business. They will give students first hand information on all aspects of broadcasting in today’s marketplace. This exchange of ideas is invaluable to students hoping to enter the broadcasting field. Many of our broadcasters, who volunteer their time, return year after year. They’ve found this day to be fulfilling and informative when understanding a student’s perspective on our ever changing industry.

Students interested in attending Career Day 2013 should contact their professors. Professors and coordinators are asked to email a list of students who would like to attend to memberservices@oab.ca. Space is limited and only confirmed names received via email will be allowed entry.

For more information, please contact Val Skivington at 905-554-2730 or memberservices@oab.ca.
