Rogers Launches Super Channel

  • Rogers Cable Communications has launched the Super Channel package to its customers in Ontario and New Brunswick.

    Rogers has launched four channels in Ontario and three in New Brunswick. The fourth channel in New Brunswick will be launched in the coming weeks. Rogers will also launch an On Demand service, which will be included with subscription to Super Channel, at a later date.

    ¿Rogers strives to provide its customers with choice,” said David Purdy, Vice-President and General Manager, Television Services for Rogers Cable, in a release announcing the new service. “With the addition of Super Channel, Rogers PersonalTV customers can now choose from a wide range of frequently-updated movies and shows from Canada, the U.S. and around the world.”

    The package includes four standard definition (SD) channels: Super Channel 1 (channel 368) provides the very best series, movies, documentaries and music. For viewers who tend to like alternative programming, Super Channel 2 (channel 369) may be a favourite; in addition to action, horror, and sci-fi programming this channel carries anime, unique comedies, extreme sports, gaming and music. Super Channel 3 (channel 370) is skewed to a female audience and carries light comedies, romantic comedies, thought-provoking documentaries, serious drama, world festival movies and the best of Bollywood entertainment. Super Channel 4 (channel 371) brings viewers premium programming shot and produced in Canada and the channel also carries top Canadian-themed content.
