Rogers Unveils New Members of NHL Broadcast Team

  • Rogers today announced the two newest members of its NHL broadcast team, who will be part of delivering NHL national coverage across all Rogers properties, as well as Hockey Night in Canada, starting this fall. Elliotte Friedman and Scott Oake will be joining the NHL broadcast team at Rogers.

    “When we announced our 12-year deal with the NHL this past November, we promised Canadians we would continue the Hockey Night in Canada tradition with great honour and respect,” said Scott Moore, President of NHL & Sportsnet, Rogers. “Elliotte and Scott are two of the game’s most insightful and experienced broadcasters, and have been important mainstays on Hockey Night in Canada for more than two decades. We are thrilled to have them join the Rogers team, and help us to deliver on our commitment to continuing the Hockey Night in Canada tradition with fervor and reverence.”

    Widely known as one of the best hockey reporters in Canada, Friedman joins Rogers as an insider and reporter. He has been part of CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada for the past 11 seasons, both in-studio and as a reporter, covering the NHL regular season and Stanley Cup Playoffs. Throughout his 20 years in sports, Freidman has covered numerous major sporting events including: five Olympic Games, NHL, MLB, CFL, NBA and more.

    Scott Oake, Reporter

    Oake brings more than 25 years of experience with CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada to his new role at Rogers, working on the regular season, Stanley Cup Playoffs and NHL special events, including the All-Star Game and Winter Classic. The Gemini Award winner has covered countless sporting events throughout his remarkable career, including 12 Olympic Games, the CFL, Calgary Stampede, NHL and much more
