  • TSN Radio 690 in Montreal today announced that it will kick off a multi-year broadcast rights agreement with the Montreal Impact of Major League Soccer  this season. As Montreal’s English-language all-sports station, TSN 690 will team with sister station CJAD 800 to provide exclusive broadcast coverage of all Impact regular season and playoff games for at least the next three seasons, bringing all Impact away games to radio for the first time as part of the new agreement.

Montrealers can set their dial to AM 690, listen online at TSN.ca/Montreal, and tune in with the TSN app for live game broadcasts. Rick Moffat of TSN 690 and Brian Wilde of CTV Montreal share play-by-play duties, while former Montreal Impact striker Grant Needham handles colour commentary.

Radio coverage of the Impact on TSN 690 complements TSN’s extensive coverage of MLS as the league’s official broadcaster. MLS ON TSN’s acclaimed team of soccer experts, Luke Wileman, Jason deVos, and Kristian Jack, deliver breaking news and in-depth analysis on the league all season long.

TSN 690 also delivers extensive coverage of the Impact from TSN’s team of soccer experts, including Noel Butler, who delivers regular reports on the team for TSN 690 throughout the season. Fans can also visit TSN.ca for breaking MLS news, Butler’s blog, along with video highlights, columns, podcasts, and Twitter updates.

“We are very enthusiastic about this announcement. Our wonderful fans can now listen to all our games on radio,” said Montreal Impact President Joey Saputo. “It’s important to gain accessibility that allows our growing supporters to follow the Impact games in different ways. We are proud to partner up with a radio station that has maintained a great interest in soccer for many years now, and who is well established on the Montreal sports scene.”

“Excitement for the Montreal Impact is at an all-time high following their run to the MLS playoffs last season, and TSN 690 is thrilled to offer this growing fan base full access to all Impact games,” said Chris Bury, Program Director, TSN Radio 690. “Today’s announcement strengthens our ability to provide Montreal fans with the best in major league sports. With this new agreement, along with every Montreal Canadiens game and our marquee NFL coverage, TSN 690 is Montreal’s undisputed market leader in live English-language major league action.”
