    The Office of the Assembly of Ontario is seeking a resourceful and detail-oriented Broadcast Operator to provide live television and audio coverage of the proceedings in the Legislative Assembly and its Committees.

    Use your broadcasting expertise to ensure the broadcast quality of audio and video recordings in a fast-paced, team environment. In this proactive role, you will install, operate and check the performance of equipment, including setting up remote audio. While the Legislature is in session, you will also operate the microphone console, monitor and adjust PA levels, and operate remote camera control systems. As well, you will be responsible for the digital recording of proceedings, and providing a cue track for transcription by Hansard.

    Your minimum two years of college or university training in broadcasting is complemented by your proven experience in setting up and operating audio, television and lighting equipment. You possess sound knowledge of character generators, VTRs, servers, master control and setting up television and lighting facilities along with a basic understanding of linear and non-linear video editing and computer graphics systems. A working knowledge of computers, specifically word-processing and basic graphics / video-editing programming, is required. You must be able to lift heavy equipment and install broadcast cables and equipment. This role may involve occasional travel and work at locations outside Toronto.

    The salary range for this position is $54,491 to $69,467 per annum.

    The Office of the Assembly is the administrative arm of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario (www.ontla.on.ca). Our mandate is to provide non-partisan support services to all Members of Provincial Parliament.
