Craig Media partners with Leitch to launch "Stampede"
Toronto, - Leitch Technology Corporation has announced Craig Media Inc., Canada's largest privately owned television broadcasting company, is partnering again with Leitch to launch a new digital specialty channel, Stampede, from Craig's state-of-the-art facility in Calgary, Alberta.
To ramp up the facility for Stampede's debut later this year, Craig chose Leitch's VR440 shared storage, multi-format server system, Opus master control switcher and LogoMotion II multi-standard branding, logo insertion and storage system.
"Leitch has been a reliable partner on a number of previous projects, including the launch of MTV Canada from our Calgary facility in 2001," said Drew Craig, president and CEO of Craig Media Inc. "The company's newly invigorated product portfolio, along with our strong past relationship, made it an easy decision to work with Leitch on this important project."
Craig operates three national specialty services from its Calgary-based facility: MTV Canada, a teen lifestyle channel (and home of the hit show, The Osbournes); MTV2, a trend-setting pop music video service; and TV LAND, featuring the best of classic television. Stampede, which will focus on western-themed movies, TV series, music and sports, is slated to launch in the summer of 2003.
