    TORONTO - CHUM Limited today announces the appointment of Roma Khanna as vice-president interactive, CHUM Television.

    Khanna will be responsible for the strategic development and day-to-day operation of all new media initiatives for CHUM Television. "In addition to leveraging the company's well-known brands and content across various new media platforms including interactive television, wireless services and exclusive Internet properties, Roma will be responsible for creating new interactive initiatives that are integral to CHUM's original television content," says today's press release.

    "A strategic thinker with extensive experience in both content creation and business applications, Roma is the right choice to helm our initiatives in the re-surging new media arena," said Stephen Tapp, executive vice-president, television. "Roma is highly respected in her field and a perfect fit with CHUM's solid business approach to the integration of television and new media opportunities."

    Khanna was most recently executive vice-president of Snap Media Corp., one of Canada's leading producers of interactive content, where she led Snap Media's brand building and industry relations initiatives. Specializing in taking TV projects into the interactive world, Snap Media produces cutting-edge interactive and convergence projects. Prior to Snap, she was manager, legal and business affairs at Sony Music Canada and has also practiced corporate and commercial law at the firm of Davies, Ward & Beck in Toronto.

    Khanna sits on the board of directors for the Canadian Film and Television Production Association (CFTPA), where she is a member of the executive committee and secretary to the board. She is also a board member of the Canadian Film Centre and is on the advisory board for their new media program, Habitat.
