  • Lawson moves to C-FAX, B107.3

    7/25/2003

VICTORIA - Veteran newsman Don Lawson will move from Edmonton to Victoria next month as he's been hired as news and sports director for Seacoast Communications' radio stations C-FAX 1070 and B107.3 FM.

Lawson has been with Corus Entertainment-owned 630 CHED Edmonton for 12 years. Prior to that he worked at stations in Red Deer, Kelowna and Grande Prairie. He begins his new role in Victoria on August 11th.

Last year, Lawson won the RTNDA's Byron MacGregor Award for best newscast for a report called "Friendly Fire".

"News is at the very heart of C-FAX 1070 and it's an important component of B107.3, so it was vital that we found the right person to head that department," said Terry Spence, executive vice-president of Seacoast. "Don Lawson is an innovator, a terrific newscaster and a great reporter. We are looking forward to having him in Victoria."
