Tompkins hired at CHAM/CKOC

HAMILTON - Tom Tompkins has been appointed program director of Standard Radio's 820 CHAM and Oldies 1150 CKOC in Hamilton, effective November 1st.

Tompkins will take over the reigns from Nevin Grant who is retiring at the end of October.

"Tom Tompkins has been in the broadcast business for the past 34 years. Over the past 25 years, his programming experience has covered a variety of formats including A/C, Oldies, AOR and a very strong background with Country Music," says the CHAM/CKOC press release.

"Tom's extended list of achievements include two wins in the category of Country Program Director of the Year; three times for Country Music Person of the Year and Tom was also President of the CCMA for seven years. Most recently, Tom held the position of president and general manager of Media Net Communications, formerly Pelmorex Broadcasting."
