  • Brown departs Cogeco Radio Quebec

    7/12/2004

QUEBEC - Geoffrey O. Brown, general manager of Cogeco Radio-Television's RYTHME 91.9 and CJMF-FM 93.3 announced last week he was leaving the company for medical reasons, effective immediately.

CJMF-FM has suffered terrible publicity ever since former morning host Robert Gillet was arrested in 2024 and convicted this year of paying a minor for sex. He was once the top-rated morning man in the Quebec capital. The company saw financial results at the station subsequently dive and said it would abandon the talk format at CJMF.

Cogeco did not immediately name a replacement, as the press release seemed to leave the door open a little for Brown to return. He's been with the company for 10 years.
