  • CHAM spending six days on the road

    8/19/2004

HAMILTON - 820 CHAM is going the distance for Hamilton Food Share. The Standard Radio station has teamed up with TST Truckload Express to send morning man John Biggs on the road for six days.

Biggs will be traveling 2,500 miles with an owner/operator of TST Truckload Express to create awareness of the trucking industry by helping Hamilton Food Share to feed the hungry in our own backyard. John will be on the road Aug. 23 to 28. The country station is inviting listeners to make a pledge and sponsor Biggs. One penny per mile equals $25 and feeds one hungry child for more than three days. Visit the web site at www.820cham.com for full details.

Hamilton Food Share has distributed more than 17 million pounds of food in the Hamilton region since 1990. No child should go to bed hungry, but more than 7,000 in our community do. Pledges can be made at any TD Canada Trust Bank in the greater Hamilton area.
