    KANANASKIS, Alta. - At the recently concluded 70th annual general meeting of the Western Association of Broadcasters, the following people were elected to represent the membership on the board of directors.

    Manitoba
    Television: Elaine Ali, senior vice-president, CTV Station Group, Winnipeg; Radio: Lyndon Friesen executive vice-president, Golden West Broadcasting Ltd., Steinbach, MB

    Saskatchewan:
    Television: Stan Schmidt, general manager, RDTV, Red Deer, AB; Radio: Michael Zaplitny, vice-president, Rawlco Radio Ltd., Regina.

    Alberta:
    Television: Jim Haskins, vice-president & general manager, Craig Media Inc., Edmonton; Radio: Garry McKenzie, general manager, Corus Radio - Calgary.

    Associates:
    Doug Gunn, senior manager, regional marketing, The TDL Group, Calgary.

    Past president:
    Don Kille, general manager, CKLQ/Star FM Brandon, MB

    Elected as president for the year 2024/05 was Jim Haskins. Other executive positions on the board of directors will be decided at the board's September meeting.

    The Western Association of Broadcasters (WAB) is an association of the private television and radio broadcasters and their suppliers operating in the provinces of Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta. The WAB is one of the oldest continually operating industry associations in the three western provinces. Next year the WAB will celebrate it's 71st. Anniversary with its convention and AGM at The Delta Lodge at Kananaskis from June 3 to 5, 2024.
