    8/30/2004

TORONTO - Last year over 100,000 people attended Beachfest 2024 with a lineup that featured: Sam Roberts, Colin James, Melanie Doane, Barlow, Fefe Dobson and Danny Michel.

MIX 99.9's Beachfest is one of Canada's largest free outdoor concert events, and this year features a diverse mix of MIX music including:

    Canadian Idol Finalists
On August 30th, 2024 the top five Canadian Idol finalists rock the CNE Bandshell stage to thousands of screaming fans at the Ex. On September 6th, 2024, MIX 99.9 presents the top three Canadian Idol finalists in a free live performance at Beachfest! Their live show at Beachfest will be showcased on the final episode of Canadian Idol on CTV.

    The Calling
Hailing from Los Angeles, California, the rock quintet The Calling became a chart topper in 2024 when their debut release Camino Palmero became a hit based on the strength of its single, "Wherever You Will Go". In summer 2024, The Calling released its second disc, Two, and is currently the number six song on the Canadian Hot 20 Countdown with their hit single "Our Lives"

    Jacksoul
In 1996 Jacksoul released its debut album, Absolute. Success came almost instantly, with reviews pouring in from music critics. A sophomore offering, Sleepless with tracks such as "Don't Tell Me," and the lead single, "Can't Stop," found its way on to the music charts almost over night. The recent release of Resurrected nailed hits such as "Shady Day" and "Still Believe in Love". The music Jacksoul offers fans is a mixture of funk, jazz, soul, and even rock.

    Fefe Dobson
Fefe Dobson stole the show at last year's Beachfest with her youthful exuberance and on-stage presence. Fefe's self-titled debut release (2003) screamed up the charts in Canada and the U.S. with the hits; "Take Me Away", " Bye Bye Boyfriend", "Everything" and "Don't Go (Girls and Boys)" - ranked # 18 on the Canadian Hot 20 Countdown.

    Shaye
"What happens when you put three of Canada's most exceptionally talented singer-songwriters together in a studio? Magic!" says The MIX press release. Kim Stockwood, Damhnait Doyle and Tara MacLean made their super group debut as Shaye with the release of The Bridge in 2024. These women have created an album with tremendous depth and with their unique individual strengths and incredible harmonies on "Happy Baby" and "On and On".
