Stephen Pumple, President & CEO, AZCAR Technologies Incorporated, announced that Megahertz Broadcast Systems, (Megahertz), AZCAR’s UK subsidiary, has signed a contract for the design and supply of a Can$5.3 million Outside Broadcast vehicle for Kuwait Television. The vehicle incorporates a single expanding side for increased space in the VTR and production areas. Megahertz won the tendered order through its local partner company in Kuwait, EEMC.

“This order follows on the heels of other orders for similar large expanding side OB vehicles constructed for the BBC in 2002 and 2003 and further affirms the markets recognition of Megahertz’s ability to design and construct these complicated vehicles,” said Frances Jarvis, Managing Director of Megahertz.

The vehicle will be equipped with nine cameras but wired for 13. It will also incorporate wiring for two Super Slow motion cameras, which are typically used in sporting events. The production areas will include on-board editing and Super slow-motion. “This is a state of the art all digital vehicle from front to back and reflects Megahertz recognized abilities to design and supply this very and technically complex type of vehicle,” said Stephen Burgess, Megahertz VP Engineering.

“Megahertz is extremely proud to be building this prestigious vehicle. This work is a follow on to the design and implementation of Kuwait TV’s Master Control Centre, which Megahertz completed several years ago. It represents a continuation of Megahertz’s work and long history of supplying vehicles and studio systems in the Middle East and Africa,” said Dave McArthur, Megahertz Director of International Sales.
