SPRINGFIELD, Mass., June 18, 2001--VCI, a leading provider of broadcast business systems, announced today that CHUM Limited, one of Canada's leading media companies, has chosen VCI's STARS II+™ traffic system and Sales Desk, broadcast sales force automation application, to manage the sales and traffic operations of CHUM's eight broadcast television stations and ten specialty channels. The centralized traffic operation, which will handle group-wide inventory management, scheduling, and invoicing, will be located at CHUM's Toronto-based Citytv facility. CHUM representatives cited ease of use, system flexibility, and the ability to handle multi-station operations as key factors for choosing VCI over other solutions.
"CHUM's continuing expansion throughout Canada is driving our transition to more modern systems," said Peter Hestick, controller for CHUM Television.
