Aboriginal Peoples Television Network congratulates Wapos Bay for winning Best Director for an Animated Production at the 2009 ELAN Awards.
The award was presented to Wapos Bay directors Dennis Jackson, Melanie Jackson, and Cam Lizotte during the 3rd annual event, held April 25th at the Fairmont Pacific Ballroom in Vancouver, British Columbia. Wapos Bay was also nominated for Best Animated Television Series.
The ELAN award is the latest of many accolades earned by the popular APTN children’s series which has garnered three Gemini awards, most recently for Best Ensemble Performance in an Animated Program in 2008. Dennis and Melanie Jackson were also recognized for their contributions to the industry at the 2009 National Aboriginal Achievement Awards.
