As the world descends upon Whistler over the next few weeks, MTV Canada announced today that it is bringing Whistler to the world. It’s original Canadian documentary series Peak Season, set in the glittering Coastal Mountain resort playground, begins airing on VH1 in the U.S. beginning Sunday, February 14, and debuts on more than 20 MTV Networks channels around the world this spring.
“We’re excited to share our home-grown hit show Peak Season with the rest of the world through great partners VH1 in the U.S. and MTV channels worldwide” said Brad Schwartz, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Much MTV Group, CTV Inc. “It’s a testament to the cast and our producers ability to capture these real life stories of young people coming of age in this remarkable town.”
The original series offers a behind-the-scenes look into the unique community of Whistler, B.C., following the high drama found in the unique mix of residents that call this world-class tourist hotspot home. As youth struggle to find love, friendship and themselves, a lot happens when the locals and temporary workers from around the world try to co-exist in the small community.
