As the countdown continues to the 2010 Winter Games, CTV National News and Canada AM shift operations to Vancouver next week. From February 7 - 11, both the morning and evening national newscasts go live from B.C. in the week leading up to Vancouver 2010.
CTV News Chief Anchor and Senior Editor Lloyd Robertson delivers Canada’s #1 national newscast, from Vancouver beginning this Sunday, Feb. 7. Continuing through February 11, the eve of the Opening Ceremony, Canada’s most-trusted anchor brings Canadians exclusive coverage of Games preparations in addition to national and international headlines.
Beginning Monday, Feb. 8, Canada AM, will also have a week of broadcasts from B.C. daily from 6 - 9 a.m. ET. With the mountains and ocean as its backdrop, co-hosts Beverly Thomson and Seamus O’Regan, along with weather anchor Jeff Hutcheson and news anchor Marci Ien, report live on location from Vancouver and Whistler. Among next week’s many Olympic Games features, the morning team gets a taste of what it’s like to train with Olympians, including sports such as bobsleigh, freestyle skiing, biathlon, figure skating, ski cross and curling. In the week-long, pre-Olympic Games lead-up, they find out the secret desires of Canada’s Olympians as they take seven Olympic hopefuls and give them a shot at their other dream job.
As previously announced, CTV News coverage continues throughout the Olympic Games, beginning every day at 6 a.m. ET with Olympic Morning, the Olympic Games morning show. Then, airing at 5:30 p.m. ET across the country, local newscasts continue to deliver local supper hour newscasts during the Games. In the evening, Lloyd Robertson will be on location in Vancouver delivering nightly news bulletins on CTV. Broadcasting from the CTV Vancouver Olympic Games newsroom, Robertson will deliver the most important national and international stories of the day, including exclusive coverage from Vancouver 2010.
Viewers following CTV National News, will continue to have the opportunity to watch the nightly broadcast at 11 p.m. in their time zone on CTV News Channel. Anchored by Sandie Rinaldo, the national newscast is committed to bringing Canadians the news from home and around the world throughout the Games. As usual, national and international headlines will continue to be delivered throughout the day on CTV News Channel.
