CTV Ottawa Gutted by Fire

CTV reports that a fire swept through its newsroom in Ottawa, causing millions of dollars in damages.

The blaze began early Sunday morning. The cause of the fire remains unknown and no one was hurt.

About 70 firefighters fought for hours to keep the fire contained to the second floor of the sprawling building.

The CTV building was built in 1961 and for many years CTV National News had offices there.

The blaze reportedly destroyed the office of Veteran CTV news anchor Max Keeping, where he had memorabilia from his 37 years at the station.
