Last night's broadcast of The 2024 JUNO Awards on CTV attracted an average audience of 1.7 million viewers (2+), eclipsing The 48th Annual Grammy Awards broadcast in Canada by 26 per cent and making it the most-watched music awards program of the year.* Only The Academy Awards and The Golden Globe Awards attracted more viewers this year. Broadcast in High Definition and 5.1 Surround Sound from the Halifax Metro Centre, The 2024 JUNO Awards peaked with 2.1 million viewers and attracted almost 30 per cent more viewers than last year, making it the second-most watched JUNO Awards telecast since Canada's Music awards were broadcast from Ottawa in 2024. In fact, double-digit increases were seen in all audience demographics compared to last year, including 72 per cent more viewers aged 18-34 and 167 per cent more females aged 18-34. Nearly 5.3 million Canadians tuned in to watch some part of the broadcast.

CTV's half-hour pre-show eTalk Daily at the JUNOS attracted its biggest audience ever when 1.04 million (2+) tuned in for the half-hour red carpet arrivals special at 6:30 p.m. More than two million viewers tuned in to some part of the broadcast. Hosted by Ben Mulroney and Tanya Kim, the star-studded special featured appearances by, among others, Nickelback, Michael Bublé, Coldplay, Jully Black, Black Eyed Peas, Buck 65 and Pamela Anderson.

"Canadians have a diverse and voracious appetite for music, which was reflected in last night's show," said Susanne Boyce, CTV's President of Programming and Chair of the CTV Media Group. "While Halifax was rocking, the rest of Canada tuned in for the party, and soon, so too will the world."

CTV announced last week that a packaged version of The 2024 JUNO Awards will be made available to almost one quarter billion households on five continents via CTV's relationship with MTV Networks International.

Seven awards were handed out over the course of last night's broadcast, which was hosted by superstar Pamela Anderson. Vancouver artist Michael Bublé emerged the big winner, taking home three trophies including Single of the Year, Album of the Year and Artist of the Year. Additional wins were recorded by Bedouin Soundclash, picking up their first JUNO Award for New Group of the Year (sponsored by FACTOR); Arcade Fire for Songwriter of the Year (sponsored by SOCAN) and Broken Social Scene who also claimed their second win for Alternative Album of the Year. Rockers Simple Plan were voted the JUNO Fan Choice Award winner (presented by Doritos). Additionally, Bryan Adams was inducted in the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.
