102.1 the Edge has announced the winners of The 2024 CASBY Music Awards, presented tonight at the Phoenix Concert Theatre in Toronto.
After nationwide fan and listener voting, the 2024 CASBY Music Awards winners are:
Molson Canadian Favourite New Artist: Coleman Hell
Favourite New Song: Shipwreck – USS
Favourite Sugar Beach Session: Metric
Favourite New Record: Very Good Bad Thing – Mother Mother
The annual show, broadcast live on 102.1 the Edge, celebrates the best of Canadian independent and alternative music. This year featured high-energy performances by some of Canada’s top rock artists, including USS, Monster Truck, Yukon Blonde, Young Empires, The Zolas and the winners of The Edge Next Big Thing Contest, Ivory Hours.
The CASBY Music Awards began in 1981 as an alternative to the JUNO Awards and were originally called the U-Knows. Unlike many awards shows, CASBY winners are chosen entirely by the fans.
