Rogers Radio station 92 CITI FM announced that it will be the new home of Winnipeg’s #1 rock radio morning show, Wheeler in the Morning with Philly and Rena.

“As Winnipeg’s highest rated rock morning show, securing the on-air team of team of Dave Wheeler, Phil Aubrey and Rena Jae will take one of Canada’s pioneer rock radio stations to the next level in this competitive market,” said Scott Armstrong, General Manager and Program Director, 92 CITI FM.

Wheeler in the Morning with Philly and Rena will replace the Tom & Joe morning show on 92 CITI FM with Tom McGouran and Joe Aiello.

Aiello will continue to wake up Winnipeg radio listeners on a new weekday morning show alongside on-air personality Kerri Salki on sister station 102.3 CLEAR FM. Aiello is well-known to Winnipegers, volunteering his time to numerous charities in the community. This move sees Salki’s current co-host Jay Oliver departing the station.

“We thank Tom and Jay for their dedication and significant contributions to CITI and CLEAR FM, and wish them all the best,” said Armstrong.

What a slap in the face to Tom.....I wish him all the best and hope to "hear" his voice again....shame on you 92CITI...You have now lost a listener. Not to offend Wheeler and the gang, but at least give Tom the respect he deserves after his loyalty to the company after all these years....seriously.

So glad my favorite morning show hasn't gone to far. Was so upset to wake up the other morning to find Wheeler, Philly and Rena gone....They make my morning...

I can't tell you how disappointed I am that Management broke up the team of Tom and Joe. They had humour and chemistry. I predict it will be a mistake and if chasing ratings was their goal this was a dangerous experiment that has as good chance of failure as success. I HAD been a steady fan for years, we'll see.

Love Wheeler, Philly and Rena and wish they weren't leaving Power97! I've been listening to Power97 for more than 2 1/2 decades and they've been one of the best combos of radio personalities. I couldn't stand Joe A's fake voice and Tom ran his course on 92 long time ago - their move to Clear FM or perhaps to a Bob FM type station would be most fitting as they aren't the young, hip rocksters they once were. Kudos to 92, Shame on 97!

Right on! tom and Joe was a great show, I grew up with listening to them in the mornings on the way to school, I now have a new reason to switch back to 92!!!!
