Corus Entertainment Inc.’s 95.1 The Peak FM (CKCB-FM) is celebrating its 50th anniversary and are hosting an open house with special programming on Tuesday, October 13 at its downtown studio. On October 24, 95.1 The Peak FM also invites the community to formally celebrate the milestone at The Peak’s 50th Anniversary Dinner & Dance.

“We are thrilled to be celebrating 50 years in the community and on the air,” says Deb James, Brand Director, 95.1 The Peak FM. “We’re proud to be the local leader and heritage station for Collingwood and The Georgian Triangle. We’ve experienced some big changes but one thing that hasn’t wavered is our loyal listeners. To show our gratitude we invite them to join us and celebrate this milestone.

The special programming on October 13 will feature hosts John, Mel and Matt sharing viewer stories and memories of the station over the past 50 years. That same day, the general public is welcome to the open house running from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.  The dinner and dance hosted on October 24 at the Collingwood Legion will be headlined by The Strange Potatoes, in support of the Collingwood G&M Hospital foundation.

Since its inception on July 15, 1965, 95.1 The Peak FM (CKCB-FM) continues to be the ultimate voice of Georgian Bay and its surrounding areas. The station offers listeners local news, weather, community information and sports, and combines the best of the current charts with hits from the ’80s and late ’70s.
