Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN) is pleased to announce that Ms. Lisa Squire has accepted the appointment of Director of Marketing at APTN effective immediately. Ms. Squire is based out of the network’s Winnipeg head office.

As Director of Marketing, Ms. Squire will work to build upon APTN’s showcase of Aboriginal Peoples and their stories.

Ms. Squire is a First Nations citizen of Alberta’s Saddle Lake Cree Nation. She graduated with distinction from the University of Alberta’s School of Business. Raised in Edmonton, she has performed various marketing and communication roles within private and public sectors including: Petro Canada Retail Operations, the Business Development Bank of Canada, Edmonton Fringe Theatre Festival and CBC Research.

Starting with APTN in June 2024 as the Manager of Research, Ms. Squire led the development of in-house marketing research at APTN, with a focus on innovation and understanding the needs of the audience. She has successfully built essential marketing research tools that assist the network in making key strategic decisions and obtaining valuable information on the target audiences.

Ms. Squire feels fortunate to have gained valuable insight into the beautiful mosaic that Aboriginal Peoples in Canada create. She joined the senior management team as Acting Director of Marketing in July 2024.

“We are very pleased that Ms. Squire has agreed to continue within the role as Director of Marketing,” said Jean LaRose, APTN’s Chief Executive Officer. “Lisa is a young, energetic leader who brings a fresh perspective on positive ways of moving APTN forward in achieving its mission of sharing our Peoples’ stories.”

I was very pleased to read about the appointment of Lisa Squire to the Director of Marketing position at APTN. Lisa worked with me in the marketing department at Fringe Theatre Adventures in Edmonton and even then, we could see that this lady would go somewhere. She is extremely intelligent, creative and has a keen sense of business acumen that will take her far in this industry. I wish her all the best in this new role!
