Bell Media's president Kevin Crull has apologized for interferring in CTV's news coverage of the recent CRTC decision on pick-and-pay services.  A Toronto Globe and Mail article alleged Crull attempted to ban the appearance of CRTC chairman Jean-Pierre Blais in CTV's new coverage of the decision.

This brought a public response from Blais, who stated, on Wednesday afternoon that  "the allegation from the largest communications company in Canada is manipulating new coverage".

On Wednesday evening Crull released a statement saying  he had "reached out to the CTV News leadership team".  "It was wrong of me to be anything but absolutely clear that editorial control always rests with the news team".  "I have apologized to the team directly for this mistake".
