Two giants of the news business in Canada have been named to the Canadian News Hall of Fame for 2024.

The honorees, Peter Mansbridge and Paul Godfrey, will be inducted at a gala banquet in Toronto in late November.

Mansbridge is chief correspondent of CBC News and anchors CBC's flagship nightly news program, The National, and all CBC News specials. His career with CBC News spans more than 40 years.

Godfrey is President and Chief Executive Officer of Postmedia Network Inc., Canada's largest publisher of paid English-language daily newspapers. Over more than 50 years, his career has included long stints in the publishing business, professional sports management and politics.

The Canadian News Hall of Fame was founded by the Toronto Press Club in 1965 as a national program to honour individuals who have made a significant contribution to journalism in Canada. More than 100 men and women have been inducted to date.
