Veteran CBC News host Evan Solomon has been named host of CBC Radio One's flagship political program, The House. He will make his debut on Sept. 17.
Solomon will continue to host CBC News Network's Power & Politics, Monday through Thursday, devoting Fridays to preparing for The House, which airs Saturdays on CBC Radio One.
Solomon, one of the country's leading political reporters and Ottawa insiders, says he can't wait to take on this new challenge.
"Over the past couple of years, we have built Power & Politics into the country's leading political affairs TV program. I'm really looking forward to bringing those insights and connections to a national radio audience on The House, to build upon the tremendous success the show has already achieved," Solomon said.
Fans of The House can look forward to the same passion, depth and insight the program has brought to the national discourse over the past 34 years.
