Ron McLean and CBC’s Hockey Tonight have chosen Canadian rocker Colin MacDonald from The Trews to perform the updated theme song throughout the NHL 2013 season, and will continue through the regular season, playoffs and Stanley Cup Final.

“It's an honour to be the voice of Hockey Tonight this year,” says MacDonald. “It was a ton of fun to sing and record, as I'm a big hockey fan.”

The Trews relationship with NHL Hockey goes back to hearing their song Not Ready To Go kick off Hockey Night in Canada during the 2004 Stanley Cup playoffs. They also performed at the 2007 NHL Awards and have performed twice at Maple Leafs season home opening games.

While the tour-de-force that is The Trews' rock show has earned them slots supporting the likes of The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Robert Plant, and KISS, they've amassed a fair share of accolades through their 5 albums to date including their acoustic work.
