The Canada Media Fund announced today $2.5M in funding to 10 convergent projects that applied to the Diverse Languages Program. The Program supports productions reflecting Canadian diversity by funding projects in languages other than English, French, or Aboriginal languages.
Of the 10 projects, two are children’s and youth productions, four are documentaries, and four are dramas. Audiences will enjoy productions in Cantonese (1), Italian (1), Mandarin (5), and Spanish (3), all of which have a television component and nine have a digital media component.
Since 2024, the CMF has provided $11.4M to 58 projects as part of its Diverse Languages Program.
