CTV today announced the star-studded celebration with the 2024 American Music Awards broadcasting live from the Microsoft Theater in L.A. this Sunday, Nov. 22 CTV, CTV.ca, and CTV GO app. Bringing together the most influential and iconic artists from around the world, triple-threat powerhouse Jennifer Lopez hosts the award show and will dazzle viewers with a special performance in support of her upcoming Las Vegas residency show, All I Have.
In addition to Jennifer Lopez, Canada's own multi-platinum alternative R&B sensation and first-time American Music Awards nominee and performer The Weeknd, will perform his hit song "The Hills." Other performers set to grace the stage at this year's music awards include: 5 Seconds of Summer, Carrie Underwood, Coldplay, Demi Lovato, Gwen Stefani, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Meghan Trainor, Nick Jonas, One Direction, Pentatonix, Selena Gomez, and Walk the Moon. Plus, Luke Bryan will perform the world premiere of "Home Alone Tonight" featuring Karen Fairchild of Little Big Town, and Meghan Trainor will be joined by Charlie Puth to perform his hit single, "Marvin Gaye".
In addition, a mix of television, music, and film stars slated to present this year include: Canadian pop star Shawn Mendes and Canadian television personality Kevin O'Leary, as well as Paula Abdul, Kelsea Ballerini, Ashley Benson, Miss America 2024 Betty Cantrell, Ciara, Terry Crews, Hannah Davis, DNCE, Florida Georgia Line, Tyrese Gibson, Ellie Goulding, Gigi Hadid, Fifth Harmony, Julianne Hough, Kylie Jenner, Wiz Khalifa, Taylor Lautner, Little Big Town, Tove Lo, Jenny McCarthy, Chloe Grace Moretz, Norman Reedus, Jeremy Renner, Nick Robinson, Alicia Silverstone, Jeremy Sisto, Hailee Steinfeld, Wilmer Valderrama, Donnie Wahlberg, and Zendaya.
ETALK's L.A. correspondent Jessi Cruickshank will be on the red carpet to provide viewers with a front-row seat as the hottest stars arrive. Then, for the seventh year in a row ETALK will report from a dedicated backstage lounge for exclusive one-on-one interviews with some of the night's presenters, winners, and performers. ETALK's airs Monday, Nov. 23 on CTV, CTV.ca, and CTV GO App, on CTV Two.
Canadian viewers have the opportunity to cast their votes for this year's nominees, by voting on Twitter or Facebook. People are eligible to vote once per day per platform with the exception of the New Artist of the Year and Collaboration of the Year categories, which fans can vote for up to 100 times per day, per platform.
As previously announced, Taylor Swift leads the Awards with six nominations, and Ed Sheeran and The Weeknd follow with five nominations each. Sam Hunt, Nicki Minaj, Sam Smith, Meghan Trainor, and Walk the Moon have three nominations each. Additionally, Jason Aldean, Chris Brown, Luke Bryan, Drake, Fetty Wap, Florida Georgia Line, Ariana Grande, Maroon 5, Bruno Mars, One Direction, Charlie Puth, Rihanna, Mark Ronson, and Wiz Khalifa each received two nominations. The Artist of the Year Top 5 nominees are Ariana Grande, Luke Bryan, Nicki Minaj, One Direction, and Taylor Swift.
